i guess i changed the blog???

hi baby=)

tonight i changed the background of your blog. no big deal, right? well, to any normal person i guess that would be the case. not so for your mommy, sweet girl. first of all, let me say that it has taken me this long to figure out how to actually do this (thanks to my sweet friend abby who has pulled me out of the stone age). why is this so difficult for me, you might ask??? i've been trying to figure out the same thing. for one, maybe it's because i'm outrageously indecisive. and fickle. so i can't make my mind up about things, and when i finally do i fear i'll change my mind 3 days later. "it's a blog, for crying out loud" i tell myself. there are much more important things than what background i choose. but that doesn't help any. maybe i'm a little sentimental that i chose that super plain and simple blogspot background when i first started writing you letters, and i don't want to change it. whatever. i've come to the conclusion that i can indeed be fickle when it comes to this, and i'll change it in 3 days if i want. so tonight i picked a background with a cute little bird on it. the same birds are on your bedding in your crib and i think they're super cute. and to decrease my risk of sounding completely nuts, i'll end this letter now=)

i love you sweet girl. you have 9 teeth now and are about to take off like a rocket crawling across the room...we've got some baby-proofing to do=)

Hi Katie!
I love the new blog look and the little birds are especially cute! I love hearing that Catherine is doing SO well! I bet it's like Mother's day everyday that you wake up to her smiling little face.

Don't worry about the being anxious about the little things!! I think because we're nurses and mommy's, we make ALOT of huge decisions without even thinking twice about them....I'm pitiful sometimes trying to just decide what size coffee to get at Starbucks!

It has been such a blessing to see how God has worked through Catherine, Miracles DO come true...you have living proof:)

Hello from NC. My name is also Katy, and I am 29 years old. I have been reading your sweet blog to your precious daughter Catherine for awhile now. I have been wanting to write you and tell you a little about my story.
Reading your blog reminds me of stories that my mom tells about my birth. I was born 12 weeks early at 2 lbs. and 4 oz. My parents were on vacation with some friends at Myrtle Beach when she went into labor. Due to the small hospital they sent me Charleston Medical Center. I was there for 10 weeks where my parents drove back and forth every weekend to visit. I was diagnosed with bronchial dysplasia. So since it was 29 years ago no cell phones to call my parents to say your baby is very sick and we need to do surgery. So they sent the highway patrol out to find them. After they found my parents and they got the ok they removed the upper left lobe of my lung. I was also later diagnosed with Cerebral Palsy.
I feel very blessed that I only have a mild case and only have a little trouble walking. I know that God chose you and your husband just for Catherine and she is going to be a wonderful young lady.
I will continue to pray for you and your family.
Love in Christ,
Katy

of course mommy is indecisive...that's why when we would get together, we usually eat ALL the things we love because how can you decide on just one delicacy?! Or that's why we watch EVERY movie we love...change? NEVER!

hey, btw, i can't believe she's crawling all over the place!! =) This smiley face doesn't do justice to the one on my face!

love you boo

Sounds like a deal to me! But I can't promise that we don't do very silly things, like pretend the spoon is an airplane, make very obnoxious faces, and noises, but so far, it has proven to work with Mack eating! And we're only asking for one tooth, do you think Catherine would mind? :)

Katie: thanks so much for commenting on our G-tube decision. We've followed Catherine for a long time and she's one story that's touched us. When she had a rough time with her surgery, we got really frightened. It was such a relief to hear from you now and know that it was the right decision. It's terrifying to think of putting Carter through another surgery and I thank you for your support.

We're ready for more pictures! :)

Hey Katie...you don't know me but I am Jim and Alice Gilmore's granddaughter. Y'all were at the lake this past week and your mom came over to visit with your daughter Catherine. My Grandmom is your mom's lake neighbor. Your daughter is absolutely delightful. She was just a grinning and crawling toward us. My daughter Jasmine handed her a doll and she handed it back. It wasn't until I was driving home that it hit me that your mom shared with my mom in May of 2008 about her daughter who was expecting her first baby girl and would we pray for y'all bc of the results you received from the US. I prayed for you that day and never really heard anything else. God is just so incredible! I wanted to tell you what an awesome testimony you have....I was so blessed to see God's answers to thousands of prayers in the form of a growing, strong, happy baby girl......Congratulations.....I told your mom maybe in a year or two our girls can play in the lake together......hope to meet you someday......joanna collins
