we're moving to....

clemson, sc!!! neither orange nor purple are good colors for mommy but in honor of the tigers, i will write this post in orange. i'm not gonna lie, clemson wasn't even on my radar. i'm a bit neurotic in my planning and my little mind had focused on a few other places and started researching the area, doctors, hospitals, apartments and houses, etc, etc. so it came as a bit of a shocker when daddy told me the email said clemson! he's very excited. he only interviewed on the phone with them, but he loved them. i remember the first thing he said was how funny they were...that they kept laughing with him and with each other... that it seemed like it would be a fun place to work. i went to clemson university for a little while and loved it while i was there. so did uncle matthew and aunt nikki and aunt elaine...daddy liked it too when he visited. now that i think about it, daddy has always mentioned how he'd really like to live in clemson. that makes me feel like God is smiling sweetly looking at us as we realize once again that He's taking such good care of us...as He reveals His plans for our little family and waits patiently for us to realize that they are, in fact, His plans. it really will be great. it's about 2 hours from our families in atlanta...it's a sweet small southern town. nothing is really there but the school and lake hartwell. my sweet friend jenny (she was my roommate sophomore year at clemson) still has her family there. and do you remember jennifer farrell who is with Jesus in heaven now? she was my friend from high school and roommate freshman year at clemson? a lot of her mama's family is still there too. and that means i get to see sweet carol farrell more often. not to mention jennifer's little cousin lauren who is very close to your age and could be a great playmate=) it will definitely be an easier transition than, say, minnesota or connecticut;) (although i was very proud of myself for getting excited about those places!) daddy said the verse that keeps coming to him since finding out is from Psalm 23..."He makes me lie down in green pastures, he leads me beside quiet waters, he restores my soul." i'm probably being a little idealistic, but this does seem to fit the move we're about to make. being closer to family, being in a more familiar cultural climate (not to mention the actual weather), being somewhere that's not completely foreign to either one of us...it definitely seems like the simpler move. who knows. i could be completely wrong. but for now, we're happy. we are so sad to leave our friends and our church and our sweet neighborhood. but onward we go=)

i love you baby. i can't wait to see you dressed up in orange and purple walking around bowman field. you, i am confident, will pull those colors off beautifully=)

That is awesome! I am so excited for y'all! And, selfishly excited for myself because we can hop in the car and come on over! I think this will be great!

(is it bad that not one of my sentences ended in anything other than an exclamation mark?!)

How exciting!!!! One of my cousins graduated from there back in the 90's and was the Rugby coach for many years. So happy for your entire family that you will be much closer to everyone. And Donnie's verse is very fitting for you guys. Good luck with everything. And just think, Clemson doesn't get nearly as much snow as some of the other places you listed. ;)

If I got an email saying that I had to move to Clemson, I would wet my pants!!!! So happy for you and your family Katie! That place is so special to me, and I know that you will l-o-v-e your time there. Just had a memory the other day of sitting in a Calhoun Courts apartment with you doing a Beth Moore bible study. Pretty sure I didn't make it but a few times, but nonetheless it was a sweet memory....Go Tigers!!!!!!!!
