Katie Holds Catherine...

Hi Catherine. Your mom got to hold you yesterday. Here's the video. You were wide awake. Today, they let me hold you. You lost some water weight and your head is approaching a normal size for a baby. You were a little jittery. Every now and again, you'd tremble your arms and legs, like a shiver. Probably because you are coming of your pain medicine. We love you! We'll be away till tomorrow night, but you are in good hands.

I wasn't able to play the video on my computer... but I "see" you all just the same! The beauty of your words bring every little detail into perfect focus. The energy and strength and emotion in each syllable is a river of love. I am so happy for the beauty in your lives today. And I can't wait to see the pink bow that everyone is talking about!

Katie and Donnie, You cannot imagine what a blessing it is to take care of your sweet Catherine and get to share in the amazing Christ-centered love from you both (as well as your family). I am humbled by your faith and the way you are filtering everything about her progress through God's eyes. "He knows the plans He has for you....." Thank you for this opportunity. Elizabeth

Katie- I am praying for you..even though we have never met! My miracle from God came to us May 29, his name is Joseph. He was born with his esophagus not connected to his stomach, along with a couple other problems that required surgery.... BUT we serve a mighty God who used the NICU and many doctors to heal our baby. Today Joseph, and his twin Johnathan are beautiful, healty 1 year old boys. God performs miracles today. WE are praying for you and your family.

Thank you so much for sharing your faith and complete trust in God with all of us. It is such an inspiration! I remember when Colin was born and he was so very sick, I asked my dad,"Do you think he'll be okay?" and my dad said, "He's God's baby. He'll take care of him." So I say to you, Catherine is God's baby and He is taking care of her. Thank you for the priviledge of witnessing this miracle. She is warmed by a blanket of prayer and we continue to prayer for healing for Catherine and strength for the two of you. Love, Kemie Brown-Vansant

Hi Katie and Donnie:
Anne Purcell shared your blog with me shortly after Catherine was born. I have been keeping up with Catherine's progress and praying for her. I too have a newborn daughter - she was born on 8/14, so your story truly wrenches my heart. I am praying hard for you and believe and trust the Lord for his continuing work of healing in little Catherine! With so much love for you all in Christ,

Brooke Hammel
