Bodily fluids

Catherine,
You've had a busy few days. You recently started eating (i.e., you have tub up your nose that gravity flows pedialite or milk to your stomach) and stooling. You took a step back, needing to go on nitric oxide, which helps the vessels in your lungs relax. On the other hand, several steps forward. You are now on the regular ventilator and starting to initiate more breathing on your own. All good things. Keep at it little girl.

Oh my goodness sweet Catherine! You are such a cutie! You already look so much bigger and older than when I saw you last! (which was when you were about 3 days old! now more than 3 weeks! I can hardly believe it) Praise God! He takes such good care of you! Your uncle Keith and I love you and your mommy and daddy so much! We pray for you and think about you all the time. Yesterday Keith said, I can't wait to be Catherine's uncle. And I said, you already are :) But I think what he really means is that he can't wait to hold you and play with you and teach you lots of fun things, and neither can I! We love you, and we are so proud of you little one :)

Katie and Donnie, Catherine gets more and more amazingly beautiful everytime you update. The family of three is precious. Donnie I love the pic of you smiling with Catherine hanging out on your chest. Oh Katie the love for you girl is breathe taking. I love it all. Remember this: even though Catherine took a step back she had to go forward in the first place in order to go back so it is all good, just hard to take, i know. Wow, she is three weeks old and getting stronger everyday. I love you guys. God is good.

I just have to share this with you. I've been following your story for quite some time, and wrote "remember catherine" on my bathroom mirror (i write stuff on there all the time - prayer requests, verses, etc)... partly to remember to pray for you all but partly to remind me when my daughters are driving me NUTS how grateful I am to have them.

At any rate my 9-year-old asked me about it one day, and I explained about Catherine and that at that point, you didn't know if she was going to live. THen I got to share with her the wonderful news that Catherine had been born and was alive!

She asks about Catherine daily, and Wendesday night at church, the teacher asked if anyone had any prayer requests. She raised her hand and told everyone about Catherine and they added her to their prayer list. So.. I just wanted you to know that the 3rd-6th graders at our church are praying for you all.

I don't think that you know how many lives that your family has touched. My very good friend began telling me one day about a "friend of a friend" and the story of her pregnancy. It touched my heart so much that now through your blogs you have become a part of so many families. My friends and family always talk about how Catherine is doing today. The miracle is not only the miracle of Catherine but also the miracle of all the people that she has touched with her little angel heart. Best wishes to all of you. Blessed Be, Suzann

She is absolutely beautiful!! My daughters and I have been following your journey for quite some time and it is funny that we act like you are a part of our family. If you have not posted in a few days we get worried/anxious and when we talk on the phone we always mention Catherine. You have touched so many people with your faith and so many people are concerned and praying for your precious family. May God continue to bless you!!

SHe is beautiful and perfect. When I was watching the slide show and video I kept singing in my head the lyric "I will declare the beauty of the Lord", over and over and over. I think its because thats what Catherine does. By her life and presence she is a picture of the beauty of our God.
I love that you get to let her rest on your chest. Not just for you, but I know that it is healing for her too. There is something about being near to a parent's heart that is comforting for a baby and I'm certain that in that moment Catherine was in the most peaceful place she's been in a few weeks:) Happy 3 week Birthday sweet girl, we can't wait to see you face-to-face here in Georgia... I promise Jacob will be a gentleman:)

Yay! You got to really hold her! I am so so happy. I know that this was a big deal.. The fact that you had to wait 3 weeks to hold her like that.. I can tell that you did not take it for granted.. So happy for you and grateful. God is so good and His hand is on you three!
